Day 1:
Before Class
- Watch an introduction to simple systems This is an important video to understand systems.
- Your text doesn’t address dynamic systems, so please read the information on this website: Atwood Machine by individual masses
- Solutions to BE#4 have been posted on the main web page. Please see them.
- PS#6 is due today. Because the videos address the new material, and PS#6 material is from videos and discussions last week, I’d like to collect PS#6 at the beginning of class, and concentrate on systems.
- PS#7 is posted and is due Wednesday.
In Class
- Tug-O-War
After Class
Day 2: More about Systems – no Big Exam today because MT#2 is Thursday.

- See video about Solving the Atwood Machine with Dynamics

Day 3:
In Class:

- Problem Set #7 due today.
- Prepare for MT2: Did you look at MT2 from years past? Remember you have access to all past classes through http://sharedcurriculum.wikispaces.com/ but NOTE! last winter, I didn’t cover centripetal acceleration until after the second midterm. So you won’t see these kinds of questions on MT#2 from W2015, but you should expect one this quarter.
Day 4: Midterm #2.
Before Class
- Did you prepare your formula sheet?
- Test yourself without the answers?
- Teach the stuff you’re not sure of to someone else?
During Class
- Midterm!
