Sabbatical Trip Log: Sept 2022 – Sept 2023

I, Pete Schwartz (My CV) left New York City on August 31, 2022  to spend a year working on Insulated Solar Electric Cooking (ISECooking) Technologies with collaborating enterprises in Africa, India, Nepal, and Fiji.  The trip resulted in an improved ISECooker construction manual and this short Project Summary.

Funding

I funded this trip myself, but the ISECooking projects were funded by UK Aid through MECS (Modern Energy Cooking Services).  After negotiating with MECS from June 2022 – June 2023, which left the project in limbo, Cal Poly rejected the grant, leaving future funding uncertain.  Details are on my funding fiasco page.
